The free version of Recipe Chef displays advertisements through Google Mobile Ads. These ads may be personalized based on your interests and activity. You can control ad personalization through:

5.3 Consent Management (GDPR)
For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), UK, and Switzerland, we display a consent dialog when you first use the app. You can withdraw consent at any time through the app settings.

5.4 Premium Subscription
Upgrading to Recipe Chef Premium removes all advertisements. Premium subscribers will not see ads or be subject to ad tracking.

5.5 Cookies (Web Version)
Our web application uses cookies for:

6. CAMERA AND PHOTO LIBRARY PERMISSIONS

- Images are sent to Google Cloud Vision and Google Gemini AI for processing
- Detected grocery items are extracted and saved to your pantry
- Original images are not permanently stored in our systems

6.2 Photo Library Access
We request photo library permission to allow you to select existing photos for grocery scanning. The same processing rules apply as camera access.

6.3 Data Security
All image uploads are transmitted using encrypted HTTPS connections. Images are processed in real-time and are not retained by our image processing services beyond the time needed for analysis.

7. DATA STORAGE AND SECURITY

7.1 Security Measures

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with our Service.

- Recipes and pantry items: Retained indefinitely while account is active

- Subscription data: Retained for 7 years for legal and tax compliance

When you delete your account, we permanently delete:

- All meal plans
- User statistics

- Subscription records (after required retention period)

Note: Some data may be retained in backup systems for up to 90 days after deletion. Aggregated and anonymized data may be retained indefinitely for analytics purposes.

Before deleting your account, you can export your data using the "Export My Data" feature in the Profile section of the app.
